Harvest Thanksgiving - Sunday 13th October

Sunday 13th October - Harvest Thanksgiving Mass at both churches.

Harvest Thanksgiving is an annual celebration, and in Britain, thanks have been given for successful harvests since pagan times. Nowadays, the celebrations on this day include singing hymns, praying and being thankful for our many blessings.

Harvest is a great season for us as a Christian, because within it is so much more meaning than the usual thanks for bunches of grapes and flowers that decorate our churches, as God looks to our harvest - how fruitful are we as Christians?

For us, at the Parish of Little Venice, it is also a time to remember those less fortunate. This year, as usual, the parish is collecting for the work of The Passage, an organization which helps with the Homeless.

For monetary giving, Gift Aid envelopes for donations are available in both churches, but if you would prefer to give items, then toothbrushes, toothpaste, soaps, shower gels etc are much appreciated.
