Our Mission to Children

As a Parish we recognise our Children’s needs, and their role in church as they grow. With this in mind we have a ‘Mission to Children’ focusing on their needs, welcoming them as church members, respecting their changing development, accepting them just as they are, and whatever they bring, and being there for them, always.

We commit ourselves to nurture, protect and safeguard all our members, particularly our children and young people, and undertake to exercise proper care in the selection, appointment and support of those working with children, whether paid or volunteer.

We accept and endorse the principles of the Children Act 1989 and the House of Bishops’ Policy Statement Protecting All God’s Children (2004).

We have a space which is just for them to learn about God. Where they can ask questions, discuss, have fun.

Mission Statement for Sunday school

Our mission is to:

Create a safe, fun and creative environment where the children can focus on learning about: the Church and the Bible, the life and work of Jesus, God and their own spirituality;

Share with the children the stories of the Bible, the literary of the Church and the context in which they were written so that the children can increase their appreciation of the learnings of God, Jesus, the Church and the Christian society;

Support the children’s learning about the church service, the structure of our worship, and the mechanics of the Church;

Provide opportunities for the children to explore their own spirituality and what God means in their life outside of Church; and

Support the children to appreciate that the Church is a loving family, always there for them and that they are part of a community and this comes with rights and responsibilities.
